Lazy Chimps VR Next Update Plans Revealed - 5/28/2026
Lazy Chimps VR announced their plans for this update and a huge shift from what the game currently is, main point is that Lazy Chimps will now be a sandbox instead of a hangout & adventure game, the game will still keep their adventure and hangout parts but will be mostly covered by their new Mod Editor and sandbox route, the game is now set to be an adventure, sandbox, build your own world theme. They will also be highly improving their moderation with better reporting system, built-in voice moderation, and more. It was also announced for the game to fully update their networking system from Photon PUN to KatzuLabs Networking. While also announcing that they will be working on getting more people to play the game.

Lazy Chimps doesn't have much toxicity or people breaking the rules but there has been a couple cases specially through voice chat

With KatzuLabs Networking now being what powers Lazy Chimps we added Voice Moderation/Auto-Mod, it will auto detect your what you say through voice chat and depending on your age this is what happens
VC Warning System ⚠️
This is assuming you are using simple words like the f-word, if you say more heavy words or say things that are homophobic, racist, ect you get more time added to your voice chat ban.
Under 13
~ You lose voice chat for 5 minutes after the third warning
~ After 5 Warnings you lose voice chat for 10 minutes
~ After 7 warnings you lose voice chat for 30 minutes
~ After 10 warnings you lose voice chat for 1 hour
13-17
~ After the third warning players under the age of 13 can't hear you for 5 minutes
~ After 5 Warnings users under 13 and 13-17 can't hear you for 10 minutes
~ After 7 warnings users under 13 and 13-17 can't hear you for 30 minutes
~ After 10 warnings users under 13 and 13-17 can't hear you for 1 hour
18+
~ After the third warning players under the age of 13 can't hear you for 5 minutes

Kiwi officially said that there won't be any age checks and players won't be separated from each other, the age will be taken from meta.

I am retiring from LAZY CHIMPS (only lazy chimps) as I am failing school badly and sports are making catching up with you guys harder.
This has been a journey I would never forget and met some new people I would have never thought of meeting.
I used to be a child that recently lost his mother to cancer and started to play vr and found "ava" and started to get to know each other then made a game called "Lazy chimps".

The main Developer (Ava) stated that the prices will be changed due to bundles being too expensive for how they look and work. Official Message:

$5 for an ugly bunds flamethrower and some cheap mask should be illegal.
Its nice that it gets some extra money but I feel like the prices are unfair for what you get and the game doesn't need much money to work specially now since servers will be free, if I ever make something a price above $0.99 it better be worth it or be a currency pack.

Woooohh, its been a year since last lazy chimps update
but now actually where are the updates?
after the latest patch i haven't had any motivation to update the game since seeing how an update came out and no one actually went on to play it.. that's sad... but I'm not surprised, this game is bob the rock poop and I though of quitting multiple times these past idk like 2-3 months. I won't quit Lazy Chimps, I want to make this game an actual game.. something worth playing
Seeing some of you chimps actually interested in the game makes me happy, not want to quit.
I'll be trying to make Lazy Chimps VR a game that is actually playable and not be considered as another cheap gorilla tag knock off, From now on every update will have a new feature instead of just maps and gadgets (Unless its a patch)
I'll be keeping an eye on the community and listen to what you guys actually want. I'm hoping for an update this month if everything goes right :)

On 1/1/2026 the main Lazy Chimps VR developer (Ava) confirms that modding will be added to Lazy Chimps VR, official announcement:

mods? YES! I been currently working on a way to let people make their own mods, want to have a sword that can one shot enemies? just make it...
There will be a new mod editor for you to be able to build your own map with over 50 blocks & +70 props! Your own GADGETS, Your own MONSTER, YOUR OWN ANYTHING!!!!
There will now be modded lobbies where players can share their creations and load their own maps that can use their own props, gadgets, or anything they can think of!
There will also be a mod store where players can download other peoples mods and donate them strawberries, banana peels, and blueberries!
This is still being worked on but right now its pretty good for gadgets and custom props!"
apparently you will be able to do basically anything you want inside lazy chimps, if this is all true and comes out well lazy chimps could become one of the best VR sandbox games.

On 12/31/2025 Lazy VR Studios (Original Company Title) was changed to KatzuLabs this was because of Lazy VR Studios was first thought as a company for only and only the game Lazy Chimps VR but as time passed Lazy VR Studios (Now known as KatzuLabs) Members decided that it would be a good idea to change the title of the company since they would release new titles for VR, PC, and others in the future.
